Sr. Business Manager, Measurement & Testing - Capital One Shopping (Remote-Eligible)

Summary:

This is your opportunity to join the BizOps team on Capital One’s fast-growing consumer app: Capital One Shopping. Within Capital One, the Shopping team is working on a new consumer product that seeks to change the way people buy things online. Our mission is to deliver a best-in-class shopping and savings experience for our millions of customers while driving incremental and sustainable sales for our merchant partners.

The BizOps team is looking for a Senior Business Analysis Manager. The BizOps team sits within Revenue Management and is responsible for driving revenue outcomes for the business. Partnering with sales and product teams, you will generate actionable insights that impact all areas of the business and ultimately drive revenue by conducting complex analyses and monitoring performance on a daily basis.

Your mission will be to unlock the full potential of advertisers on Shopping’s platform through the use of data-driven analytical methods. We’re looking for people with strong analytical and critical thinking skills, deep expertise in marketing and advertising measurement, and familiarity with large data sets and data manipulation tools. In this highly cross-functional role, you will work with numerous internal partners while interacting with clients. To that end, we’re looking for people that also have excellent communication and relationship building skills - particularly with the ability to articulate complex concepts simply and succinctly, and the ability to effectively influence key decision makers.

The ideal candidate is resourceful, motivated, and self-sufficient, with demonstrated success in spearheading cross-functional projects that drive the growth and success of a business.

General Responsibilities:

• Drive exceptional measurement practices with advertisers and/or agencies by designing global learning agendas and testing programs (A/B tests, conversion and brand lift studies, partner lift studies and so on) and doing research to help clients understand and improve the effectiveness of their advertising across Shopping’s platform

• Drive deep and complex data analysis to identify key opportunities for Shopping and Shopping’s advertisers

• Conduct in-depth standard and custom analyses to understand the impact of different marketing strategies across various advertisers

• Provide feedback to and collaborate with Product, Sales, and Tech to identify opportunities for new features, products, and partnerships

• Strategic leadership: Develop business strategies that will drive growth, profitability, and competitive success for Capital One in the face of shifting consumer and regulatory behavior

• Business ownership: Have an ownership mindset, and potentially P&L accountability for a business segment. Strategic planning with a 1-6 month horizon

• Product: Develop and implement new product and pricing strategies for various lending products; lead product level modeling/analytics

• Marketing: Lead direct to consumer marketing efforts for select products, and strategic intent for products distributed through various channels. Build targeted insights to inform the design and development of new customer experiences, as well as breakthrough technology and concepts designed to deliver on new go-to-market strategies

• Execution: Coordinate across the line of business to manage and sequence delivery of business intent, build business requirements and execute against the product strategy. Oversee multiple projects and programs concurrently

• Strategic & analytic orientation: A proven track record of decision making and problem solving based on analytics. Conceptual thinking skills must be complemented by a strong quantitative orientation, given that a large part of the business is based on rigorous analytic marketing & credit risk management

• Strong business judgment, leadership and integrity: He/she should be a tenacious decision maker, able to bring a healthy, aggressive, yet responsible approach to business

• Strong executive communication skills: Impeccable written and oral communication credentials, coupled with strategic influencing skills and the ability to drive agreement through intellect, interpersonal and negotiation skills

• Clear results orientation: display an intense focus on achieving both short and long term goals. He/she should be able to drive and execute an agenda in an uncertain and fluid environment

• Successful track record of thriving in a fast paced, entrepreneurial and dynamic environment. Previous consulting experience is a plus

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in any quantitative field (Business, Math, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Science, Engineering)

• At least 2 years of experience in quantitative analysis

• At least 2 years of experience in qualitative analysis

• At least 1 year of experience in people management

• At least 1 year of experience in project management

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in Business or quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Physical Sciences, Math, Statistics, Engineering

• 5+ years of experience in quantitative analysis

• 5+ years of experience in qualitative analysis

• 2+ years of experience in people management

• 2+ years of experience in product development

• 2+ years of experience in financial modeling

• 2+ years of experience in economic forecasting

• 2+ years of experience in project management

• At least 1 year of experience with SQL

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Remote (Regardless of Location): $168,700 - $192,600 for Sr. Business Manager

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
