Position description
The UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music’s Global Jazz Studies IDP invites applications for a part-time lecturer position in Instruction in Advanced Jazz Performance: Voice for the 2024-25 academic year. Salary commensurate with applicant qualifications and experience; percentage of appointment commensurate with teaching load.
Applicants should have advanced expertise in group and solo performance of a diverse mixture of Jazz vocal at the university level. Responsibilities will include individual student instruction. University teaching experience preferred. A bachelor’s degree preferred.
Candidates should submit: a cover letter stating interest in the position, a comprehensive curriculum vitae, a statement of teaching philosophy, and a statement of contribution to diversity. In addition, please provide names and contact information for at least three professional references. Applicants may consider including online video links representing their teaching although doing so is not required.

-Advanced expertise in group and solo performance of a diverse mixture of jazz vocal at the university level.
-Experience interacting with the jazz music community on various cultural and educational initiatives.
