As a Senior Buyer reporting to the Director of Supply Chain, your primary responsibility is to strategically source materials, supplies, and equipment from suppliers. You will consider factors such as cost, quality, reliability, and urgency to ensure seamless operations. Your critical role extends beyond procurement; you will also set and maintain ambitious standards for professionalism, efficiency, and exceptional customer service within the department.
- Purchase Requisitions:
- Review requisitions for item quantities and specifications.
- Prioritize urgent medical and patient care-related orders.
- Conduct research on product availability, alternative suppliers, and value analysis.
- Supplier Interaction:
- Meet with vendor sales representatives to discuss new products and negotiate pricing.
- Obtain competitive bids when necessary.
- Negotiate price, purchase terms, and equipment life cycle costs.
- Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Prepare Excel cost analysis reports, detailing cost of goods, potential rebates, and discounting levels.
- Collaborate with department heads to recommend alternatives for requested products.
- Expedite orders affected by vendor backorders, credit holds, or emergencies.
- Process Compliance:
- Ensure purchase requisitions comply with financial protocols before committing to vendors.
- Support supply chain initiatives and understand inventory management and accounts payable operations.
Required Qualifications
- Work Experience:
- Minimum of 4 years of applicable experience in procurement or supply chain management.
- Skills & Experience:
- Proficiency in Materials Management Information Systems.
- Strong data analysis skills.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

- Negotiation Skills:
- Ability to negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers.
- Effective communication with diverse stakeholders.
- Communication:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Physical Demands

Salary Range: $85,000-$95,000
