As one of the largest comprehensive health and human services organizations in the region, Catholic

Overview of the Fellowship:
The student will focus on researching and summarizing the Community Health Needs Assessments from
healthyneo.org for 7 counties. The student will analyze and describe areas of alignment with Catholic
Charities. Based on the information on Healthy Northeast Ohio, the intern will pull reports that align to
the work of Catholic Charities and build a shared folder with key information provided by
healthyneo.org. Reports will include summaries of promising practices in the areas that have potential
for alignment. The Fellow’s core duties will be as follows:
- Reviewing and collecting the summary reports of the Community Health Needs Assessments
(CHNA) for Ashland, Wayne, Medina, Summit, Lorain, Lake and Geauga, utilizing websites such
as Healthy Northeast Ohio and the Wayne Department of Health.
- Develop summaries and charts that outline the core services of Catholic Charities in these 7
counties.
- Set up a shared folder in Microsoft Teams to organize and utilize all information gathered.
- Create a tracking chart to monitor key areas of need from CHNA to the current services of
Catholic Charities.
- Identify promising practices in the key areas of need per CHNA aligned to current programming
- Develop and present a guide for each county, assimilated from the above information, to
present to regional and program leadership.
- Identify potential collaborating organizations through conversation with the senior director of
regional services.
- This position will interface with the regional directors and program leadership as appropriate.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have the following skills:
- Research skills – the ideal candidate will have experience pulling data from the internet, helping
to sort and graphically display data in an effective way to present to leadership, and have the
ability to understand trends and complex data. (cont’d on next page)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills – the ideal candidate will be able to summarize,
share and display complex data, and ability to interview experts to obtain information.
- Analytical skills – the ideal candidate will have the ability to make comparisons and make key
observations between trends.
- This position could be an in-person, or hybrid internship
