Job Summary:
Reporting to the Assistant Athletic Director of Athletics for Athletic Communications, the Assistant Director of Creative Services is responsible for all facets of athletics video, digital, graphic, and social media areas. The position works behind the camera and in the editing process, shooting green screen material, promotional content, live events and select road events. Events can include games, practices, special events and travel. This person will work on assigned feature projects, working in tandem with the Assistant Athletic Director of Athletic Communications and the Senior Associate Athletic Director for External Affairs. The position has a direct hand in the storytelling and branding of the athletic department, its student-athletes and teams and aids in making organic content but also in sponsorship fulfillment.
Required Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree required.
2. 1-3 years’ experience at the university or college level, preferably in athletics or student services.
3. Experience shooting video of athletic contests and using video editing programs.
4. Advanced skills with Microsoft Suite, Adobe products such as Photoshop and Illustrator.
5. Experience using social media for the marketing and promotion of athletic programs.
6. Willingness to travel and work varied hours including evenings and weekends.
7. Work independently as well as function effectively in a team within a diverse group of people.
8. Manage multiple, concurrent projects, and meet strict deadlines.
9. Valid driver’s license and an acceptable during record in accordance with the university’s Motor Vehicle Policy. A MVC check will be required at the time of hire and thereafter as deemed appropriate by the university. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the MVC check.
10. Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security.
