Job Abstract

We are seeking an Estimator for our client in the greater El Monte, CA on a Direct Hire basis! Pay dependent upon employment ranging from $25-35/hr.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze data to determine material, labor needs, and manufacturing processes.
• Calculate cost factors and prepare estimates for management purposes, such as planning, organizing, scheduling, preparing bids, selecting vendors or subcontractors, and assessing cost-effectiveness.
• Develop, evaluate, and enhance manufacturing methods using knowledge of product design, materials, parts, fabrication processes, tooling, production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.
• Collaborate with planning and production teams to ensure efficient production methods related to product design and tooling.
• Communicate with vendors to determine product specifications and evaluate products based on specifications and quality standards.
• Serve as a technical liaison for customer engineering issues and contacts.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting detailed drawings or 2-D blueprints.
• Knowledgeable in Digital Product Definition (DPD) compliance and model-based data sets from customers, with experience in solid modeling software (e.g., SolidWorks, Catia, or equivalent).
• Demonstrate effective communication skills with internal and external customers, sales, engineering, production, and management teams.
• Participate in team meetings and projects.
• Engage in 6S activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Take part in internal auditing as required by the quality management system.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience.
• Experience working with metals.
• Experience in quoting.
• A degree is advantageous but not required.
• Proficient in reading and writing English.
• Basic computer skills in Word and Excel.
• Must have a positive attitude, strong oral and written communication skills, and be a team player.
