The Data Analytics and Quality (DAQ) group is seeking a senior computer vision algorithm engineer to specialize in the evaluation of computer vision and deep learning algorithms. This role involves collaboration with teams at Apple focused on developing algorithms, including computer vision engineers, ML engineers, data scientists, and Infrastructure engineers. Your primary responsibilities will include developing methods for the evaluation and improvement of foundation algorithms/ models, as well as refining the data used in training them, utilizing data centric AI approaches. The ideal candidate will have extensive industry experience, a proven track record of developing innovative solutions, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:- Evaluate computer vision algorithms and deep learning models to solve complex problems in Apple Vision Pro.- Contribute to defining feature specifications and anticipated user experience based on data insights.- Conduct research and stay abreast of the latest advancements in computer vision, deep learning, and related fields.- Develop tools for analyzing and visualizing data.- Work closely with program managers, CV engineers, ML engineers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate computer vision and deep learning capabilities into our products and services.- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience in computer vision and deep learning models.- Strong background in computer vision with hands-on experience in image processing, object detection, segmentation, and other related techniques, SLAM experience is a plus.- Proficiency in programming languages like Python, and at least 4 years of hands-on experience.- Demonstrated experience in in-depth analysis of machine learning model failures- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.- Ability to multi-task and manage tasks with varying priorities
