The programmer is responsible for writing programs for the machines to perform tasks for each metal part that are machined. Works closely with machinists to insure programs are working properly and are making cycle time.
Nature of Duties/Responsibilities
Writing programs for the machines to perform tasks to cut metal parts.
Works closely with the machinist to insure that program is working properly
Makes sure the program is making cycle times and makes adjustments.
Program maintenance, DNC, upload, download just run, review and save as master if it qualifies.
Makes sure programs and process routers match.
Makes sure tool sheets are correct and have full tool descriptions.
Other duties may be assigned.
Education and Experience
High School degree or GED
Minimum of 6+years of quality experience
Decision making abilities in situations where problems are complex
Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings
Advanced knowledge of GD&T ASME Y14.5-2009
Experience with reading and writing G Code programs
Experience programming 5-axis equipment
