VP, IT Quality Assurance Testing
ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT
The VP, IT Quality Assurance Testing, working at the direction of the SVP, Head of Application Development and Testing, provides technical leadership for Technology testing and quality assurance excellence at VyStar Credit Union. This role leads a team focused on working collaboratively with technology and business teams to deliver highly performant, secure and efficient systems for the products and channels VyStar supports. They work closely with the other technology areas, the Enterprise Program Management Office and the business lines to execute and ensure the quality of technology deployed in this critical space.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and directly manage Managers and Individual Contributors for the systems and functions in the domain.
- Maintain strong knowledge of emerging technologies and drive innovation.
- Evaluates latest trends and innovations in IT Quality Assurance and Testing systems and recommends solutions for the credit union. Maintain a clear command of competitive capabilities and existing and emerging technologies and vendor capabilities.
- Facilitates implementation of new standards or procedures that improves service, process or product across the credit union applications.
- Defines, designs and organizes teams to enable effective and performant systems and services via the quality assurance process and the Software Development Lifecycle.
- Manages metrics and results for all Quality Assurance-related functions and technologies.
- Strong risk management mindset relative to managing risk and delivering technical tasks related to finding solutions e.g., breaks, defects, performance info, etc.
- Regularly communicates with Compliance, Risk and Audit teams to facilitate risk management and incorporate compliance into design and decision-making.
- Strong talent assessment and talent management background.
- Mentor team members to progress their technical and professional skills.
- Build and maintain relationships with business and technology team members.
- Triage technical issues and lead teams toward solving problems.
- Plan team capacity to accommodate demands.
- Build a diverse and inclusive team and culture within the organization.

- Set technology strategies and objectives aligned with VyStar’s strategic plan by creating a vision and mission for the function; along with the ability to convert the business strategy to technology execution.
- Evaluate key industry and technology trends and provide thought leadership. Identify opportunities to improve member and employee experience through technology and innovation.
- Ability to plan and direct IT efforts to improve operational efficiency and service delivery across all lines of business and technology platforms.
- Lead assigned technology executive management meetings and committees ensuring information being presented is accurate and professional.
- Maintain and achieve financial targets for the quality assurance organization by managing a budget and related expenditures, forecasts, and variances.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree in Management/Business, Computer Science, or related field.
10+ years of experience in information technology leadership, with at least 5 years managing people in a production IT environment managing enterprise IT teams, systems, and process areas.
7+ years of experience with Quality Assurance Testing of enterprise-scale, user-facing, and critical business systems.
5+ years of relevant experience within the financial services industry preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Advanced knowledge of IT Testing strategies, frameworks, and best practices.
- Detailed understanding and experience with both manual and automated testing functions and supporting tools.
- Proficiency and experience with performance certification testing, including load testing, soak testing and chaos engineering.
- Ability to “think big” and challenge conventional wisdom regarding technology.
- Strong leadership and negotiation skills with business and technical groups including ability to share knowledge, resolve conflict and build consensus among many stakeholders broad, in-depth working knowledge of various business components and understand dependencies and linkages of major business processes, products, systems, networks, etc. Willingness and ability to fulfill the role of teacher, mentor and coach.
- Positive outlook, strong work ethic and responsiveness to internal and external customers and contacts.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong project management and organization skills
- Comfortable with ambiguity and willing to take principled bets on new technology. Ability to establish, implement and enforce appropriate IT standards to meet business requirements.
- A solid understanding of the financial services industry and the laws and regulations that govern and/or impact the credit union is a plus.
- A high level of interpersonal skills and social sensitivity are required. The candidate interacts with employees on all levels of the organization. The candidate is a resource to the organization and must be an effective listener and communicator. The candidate must set the example in attitude, behavior, and work ethic.
Computer Skills
- Proficient in usage of Microsoft Office / Office 365 products
- Proficient with Microsoft Azure DevOps suite, including testing functions.
- Familiarity with automation testing tools such as Selenium, Cucumber, Blazemeter, etc.
- Familiarity with Performance and Load testing tools such as Blazemeter, LoadRunner, etc.
