Job Abstract

Summary

Under the supervision of Medical Director of Foot and Ankle services or designated supervisor this resource supports activities of orthopedic surgery. Responsible for administrative support to care providers in the Orthopedic/Foot and Ankle Service Line. Support includes but is not limited to receiving visitors in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner, scheduling meetings, maintaining calendars, schedules and files, preparing communications and presentations, and conducting special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

1. High school graduate or equivalent.
2. Knowledge of medical terminology.
3. Two years of administrative or clinical experience in a healthcare setting.
4. Fundamental understanding of personal computers, familiarity with the Windows operating system and proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
5. Ability to navigate routinely shifting demands.
6. High degree of attention to detail.
7. Interpersonal skills to interact effectively with all levels of Hospital personnel, outside agencies, and patients and their families.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Associates degree in Business Administration.
2. Experience in patient scheduling.
3. Knowledge of ICD and CPT coding.
4. Knowledge of the Electronic Medical Record (EHR).
