Job Summary:
The Area Manager for Inventory Control will supervise inventory control department by delegating assignments according to established policies. Assists with inventory planning, forecasting and control operations. Utilizes Inventory tools and systems for tracking, analysis, auditing, and reporting. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to implement and support initiatives to optimize inventory capabilities using best inventory management. Provide support to the Inventory Control Manager in overall daily operations.
Essential Functions (Including but not limited to):
· Responsible for the supervision of Inventory Control Cycle Counter, Inventory Control Auditor, Inventory Control Clerk, and Inventory Control Lead. Provides training, sets performance goals and provides evaluative feedback to all direct reports.
· Plans, organizes, and distributes work assignments to employees so that financial goals are met or exceeded. Monitors completion of job assignments.
·Coordinates and oversees daily cycle counts of inventory, schedule and maintain set up of cycle count program.
·Investigates/reconciles cycle count discrepancies (i.e., shortages and overages)
·Provides weekly reports for adjustments, cycle counts, completeness, and valuation.
·Conduct physical audits. Maintains cycle count records to be reviewed by management.
· Research and address root cause of inventory transaction errors, shortages, research and reconcile inventory discrepancies by processing adjustments.
· Prepare related reports, graphs, charts, presentations, and other documents to support root cause analyses.
· Prepares and conducts performance appraisals for Inventory Control Cycle Counter, Inventory Control Auditor, Inventory Control Clerk, and Inventory Control Lead.
· Initiates, conducts, and seeks appropriate approvals involving disciplinary action up to and including terminations of employees assigned.
· Takes proactive role in establishing and carrying out shrinkage control disciplines and programs and accepts high level of responsibility for distribution center's shrinkage performance.
· Assumes all supervisory responsibilities concerning Human Resources policies and procedures and wage administration including daily timecard recordkeeping.
· Uses discretion and independent judgment while maintaining the integrity of our Mission, Vision and Values statement in making all business decisions.
· Perform any other duties as assigned in support of the company needs and operations.
Qualifications/Requirements:
· Minimum of 3-5 years of retail accounting experience preferred.
· One-year previous experience in a supervisory capacity within a Distribution Center strongly preferred.
· Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field a plus.
· Demonstrate understanding of the inventory flow and inventory policies and procedures.
· Working knowledge of general Distribution Center operations is required.
· Previous Warehouse Management System (WMS) & RF devices preferred.
· Prior experience supervising, leading nonexempt hourly employees.
· Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and able to communicate with management, peers and external parties.
· Strong oral and written communication, analytical, organizational and time management skills required.
· Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
