Summary of Primary Function/General Purpose of Position
Serve as an EMS educator for the Mercy Health EMS Division and the Northwest Ohio EMS Consortium (NWOEMS-C), utilizing cutting edge simulation equipment on-site and in the mobile simulation vehicles. Opportunity to work outside the clinical environment and travel to EMS Agencies to provide on-site simulation, continuing education, and credentialing.
Essential Job Functions
- Focus on external agencies and simulation
- Operate, clean, and maintain all simulation equipment and supplies
- Develop educational material and clinical scenarios as required
- Schedule, coordinate, and travel to all EMSD training events
- Conduct training at hospitals and on-site at EMS agencies
- Complete EVOC course and maintain NREMT-P, ACLS instructor, PALS instructor, and EMS instructor certifications (Special Topics Instructor at a minimum)
- Complete simulator-specific training – may require travel for off-site courses
- Event Medicine
- Possible Grant Training Education
- Assist with all Continuing Education for EMS Division
- Maintain all paperwork for EMS Division Education

Required Minimum Education:
Vocational/ Technical Degree
Specialty/Major: Paramedic
Preferred Education:
2 Year/ Associates Degree
Licensing/ Certification
Licensure/Certification Required: Paramedic
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Active ACLS, PALS and CPR instructor. EMS Instructor required within 6-12 months of hire
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
PHTLS, Clean driving record
