Ideal Candidate Possesses:
Bachelor's degree with a focus in English and/or writing preferred. It is required that applicants have at least an Associate's degree or show evidence of having passed the Para-Pro Assessment.
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to teach writing skills with at least two years of experience
Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
Ability to work independently following priorities and direction set by others
Proficiency with Google Workspace Platform (including Sheets, Docs, Calendar, Classroom, and Forms)
Responsibilities:
Provide students of all grades and ability levels with individualized writing assistance and instruction
Coordinate with Learning Centers to provide additional support in accordance with the District Strategic Plan and MTSS Framework
Respect and maintain the confidentiality of student information
Communicate with faculty and staff on issues related to student writing and reading performance
Assist in administering school-wide writing and reading programs
Assist in collecting, analyzing, and providing clear data related to school-wide and individualized writing and reading performance
Assist with group presentations related to school-wide writing and reading programs
Assist in planning, developing, and editing school-wide writing and reading publications
Assume other responsibilities as assigned by the Writing Center Director(s)
