Read and quickly interpret blueprints, schematics, ladder logic, Distributed Control System configuration logs, wiring diagrams, OEM vendor manuals, and other specifications, as required, to determine functionality and correctly follow installation and maintenance procedures
Be able to work quickly but safely during an unscheduled equipment downtime event
Ability to modify electrical blueprints, schematic, and ladder logic to reflect as built changes
Provide troubleshooting and unscheduled/scheduled maintenance work on a variety of equipment and systems including drives, compressors, gearboxes, mixers, blowers, pumps, conveyors, air handlers, motor control centers, electronically controlled equipment, and instruments, overhead doors, vacuums, electro-hydraulic controlled systems, along with other equipment related to production and facility operations
Configure and make changes to the PLC control system for all plant equipment
Repair any manufacturing asset safely and efficiently
Supports on-call responses as needed
Performs various housekeeping activities as they relate to maintenance tasks
Perform Preventative Maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair all types of electrical equipment failures including but not limited to 4160 volts all the way to 115-volt breakers transformers, switches, substation breakers and control, motor control centers, AC and DC motors, contactors, capacitors, transformers, process equipment and electronic control system devices including variable speed motor controllers, signal transmitters and converters
Be able to safely shutdown electrical systems and/or equipment to allow for inspections, renovations, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of process control instruments and related systems
Familiar with all NEC codes and arc safety procedures
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of the work such as customers, fellow maintenance personnel, operations personnel, vendors, and the like
Respond to emergency situations such as power outages to minimize or prevent loss of property
Be able to troubleshoot software-based interfaces on electrical drives, communication networks for PLC and other digital devices, and in-mill IT networks
Be able to configure and troubleshoot the operation of soft starts and variable frequency drives
Be able to assess and generate quickly Bills of Materials for purchasing necessary parts and components to recover from equipment failure
Be able to utilize equipment designed to measure electrical equipment vibration and be able to interpret the spectrum of transients
Be able to identify printed circuit board assembly errors and take appropriate action to resolve any failure
Be able to professionally prepare cables and cable assemblies
Be able to utilize any analytical equipment provided
Be able to proactively plan shutdown work to minimize inefficient time usage
Be able to interact with a Work Order system and be disciplined enough to fully utilize the Work Order System functionality
