Position Summary
Arch is seeking a Vice President, Corporate Accounting that will manage the financial activities of four corporate entities and will oversee a team of four accounting professionals.
This role has oversight responsibility for the preparation and accuracy of financial statements, ensuring timely delivery of corporate results, developing allocation methodologies and reporting operating expenses to global affiliates. This role provides comprehensive financial reporting directly to corporate and segment CFOs and communicates and reports financial results to cost center owners ensuring transparency and understanding of financial data.
The VP will also develop strategic financial processes such as creating, implementing and refining financial systems and processes that align with the long-term goals of Arch.
Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Oversee the preparation, accuracy, and timely delivery of financial reports and analysis to senior management and affiliates.
- Analyze and report corporate financial results ensuring compliance with GAAP.
- Provide comprehensive financial reporting to corporate and segment CFOs on a quarterly basis.
- Engage regularly with senior management to discuss financial performance, variance analysis and strategic recommendations.
- Communicate and report financial results to cost center owners on a quarterly basis.
- Develop and implement financial strategies to improve reporting efficiency and accuracy.
- Expense Allocation and Reporting:
- Rationalize allocation processes for accurately distributing expenses to global affiliates.
- Perform analysis on expense allocations and communicate with relevant stakeholders.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and develop a team of four accounting professionals.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
- Liaison and Communication:
- Act as primary liaison between the services company and global affiliate finance teams regarding expense allocations.
- Communicate effectively with key stakeholders explaining expense results and variance drivers.
- Foster strong communication channels to facilitate the flow of financial information across all entities.
- Compliance and Audits:
- Support SOX compliance processes and financial audits.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, accounting policies and procedures.
- Maintain compliance with tax, legal, and regulatory requirements governing global services agreements.
- Process Development:
- Streamline monthly, quarterly and annual accounting close processes and reporting.
- Lead initiatives to improve financial controls and operational efficiency.
- Implement best practices for financial management and reporting.
- Operationalize accounting systems and processes to deliver continuous improvements.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or a related field.
- Preferably hold a CPA license, underscoring your commitment to excellence and advanced knowledge.
- 7+ years of accounting experience with a focus on financial reporting and analysis.
- Experience with SOX compliance and financial audits.
- Proficiency in financial management systems.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software applications used for data analysis and reporting.
- Proficiency in PowerPoint, excellent writing skills and effective communication.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including the ability to mentor and develop team members and drive strategic initiatives.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Proven ability to develop and implement financial processes and strategies.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate and address potential financial challenges.
For individuals assigned or hired to work in California, Colorado, Hawaii, Jersey City, NJ; New York State; and/or Washington State, the base salary range is listed below. This range is as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible.
$170,000-$200,000
Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs. The above range may be modified in the future
