Job Summary:
Under the general direction of the Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacy Manager, the Automation Pharmacist ensures that pharmacy automation is functional and works to optimize it to the highest level of efficiency. This individual participates in the development of workflows, system configuration, change documentation, and technical support to staff. This requires the individual to remain current with the systems and applications as well as collaboration with IT analysts and vendors. This position is responsible for investigations and analyses related to controlled substance utilization, along with the Diversion Prevention Specialist, and make appropriate recommendations to the Director of Pharmacy.

Job Essentials: The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements and competencies:
- At least 3 years of hospital pharmacy practice (drug utilization, drug information) required.
- Proficient in IT systems and software applications relevant to pharmacy automation.
- Detail-oriented approach to problem-solving and troubleshooting
- Advanced communication and project management skills
- Self-starter, problem solver, able to establish priorities and manage time effectively
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of patient safety and quality care in medication management
Education Requirements:
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy required.
License/Certification/Registry:
- Current New Jersey Pharmacist licensure required.
