Einstein Charter Schools (“Einstein”) is a nonprofit Charter Management Organization whose mission is to empower all students to achieve financial well-being and embrace the power of choice through equitable educational experiences. Founded in 2005, Einstein Charter Schools is a top performing, tuition free, open admissions network of 4 schools in New Orleans East, serving grades PK-12. Our schools are: Sherwood Forest, Village de l'Est, Einstein Middle School, and Sarah T. Reed High School. Authorized by the Orleans Parish School Board, we service the needs of more than 1,600 students, over 30% of whom receive ELL services.

Position Overview
The Behavior Interventionist works with the Principal in carrying out the school’s academic and behavior programs. As a professional educator the Behavior Interventionist understands and responds to the challenges presented by today’s diverse student population. The Behavior Interventionist provides proactive leadership to engage all stakeholders in the delivery of programs and services to support the students’ academic achievement, personal and social development. The Behavior Interventionist works cooperatively with the principal, assistant principal, social worker, counselor, nurse, staff, students and parents towards a positive school climate.

Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the consistent and fair administration and tracking of student conduct and discipline data;
- Contribute toward a safe environment for learning, including ensuring that student conduct is maintained and discipline is enforced fairly and consistently, and updating and implementing the required annual school safety report;
- Serve as liaison to parents and facilitate parent education and involvement, including reinforcing the need for parents to support the school’s policies and practices for student discipline, dress code, homework, and events;
- Collaborate with teachers on classroom/ behavior management techniques;
- Implement and follow policies and procedures for student dress code, discipline and other policies related to maintaining a positive school culture of learning and achievement;
- Facilitate faculty and staff development related to school culture and consistent enforcement of student discipline;
- Facilitate parent education and involvement, including reinforcing the need for parents to support the school’s policies and practices for student discipline, dress code, homework, and events;
- Work closely with the Principal to establish a positive school climate.
- Work closely with students to ensure that all students internalize and demonstrate the school’s values: ECM students are safe, respectful, responsible, ready to learn.
- Work closely with students to support their positive behavior choices.
- Work closely with parents to support students' positive behavior choices.
- Meet with parents who have a need for immediate administrator attention.
- Work closely with the school Social Worker to support students in crisis.
- Work closely with Social Worker to resolve student conflict through restorative practices.
- Work closely with Social Worker to document and maintain truancy records and due process.
- Conduct readmit meetings and complete STP Contracts. Work closely with Social Worker on readmit meetings.
- Support teachers with consistent use of PBIS systems.
- Support teachers with consistent use of Consequence Progression.
- Ensure that the physical environment of the school reinforces school culture and facilitates student achievement: bulletin boards, signage, posters.
- Proactively circulating throughout hallways, classrooms, and Reset Room.
- Model the school’s values and the standard for professional behavior.
- Supervise breakfast, lunch, class transitions, and dismissal.
- Work closely with the Reset Team to investigate and document behavior issues and conflict.
- Coordinate with the Reset Team to cover ISS.
- Keep accurate student discipline records using Form A, ECS Behavior Tracker, and Readmit Calendar.
- Coordinate the flow of notifications and documentation to all concerned parties as outlined in School Climate protocol.
- Undertake administrative and instructional duties as the principal may assign.
Skills/Qualifications
- Experienced and demonstrated ability in working with children in a teaching, counseling or other applicable capacity (examples include, but are not limited to involvement with community youth organizations, supervisory roles in the Boy Scouts or Girl Scouts, and mentorships);
- Experienced at resolving conflicts and diffusing hostility amidst adversity;
- Exhibited leadership in working with professional staff, students, and the community and proven ability to remain calm and deliver results in high-pressure situations.
- Agreement with the academic goals and philosophy of the charter school;
- Demonstrated success in encouraging parental involvement.

Compensation is commensurate with experience.
