Overview
Sunrun is looking for a Staff Technical Product Manager to join the team of TPMs leading the Core Technology Delivery and Services at Sunrun.
You will lead the delivery of software integrations, product roadmaps, and reliability of cloud services working closely with distributed engineering teams.
You will work closely with Business, Field, and Technology team resources to ensure all components of our renewable energy business are deployed on-time, easy to implement/modify, and ensure uptime for all product services for our customers.
Responsibilities
Testing, evaluating and maintaining any and all hardware used for Sunrun field installations including electrical and mechanical components.
Write and maintain all field documents (policies, Standard Operation Procedures, Work Instructions, Product Evaluations, and Site reviews) for installation.
Exceptional collaboration with all Sunrun departments in order to build and maintain accurate and clear live documents.
Be able to follow a predetermined format and stay consistent in documentation.
Well-documented daily progression of all assigned projects and timelines.
Obtain all required product certifications.
Participate in product pilots in order to understand and overcome challenges incurred by Sunrun’s field installers.
Become the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all products in your purview. This includes understanding and testing all product features and commissioning.
Travel when necessary to different markets in order to pilot and launch new products.
Stay up to date with all NEC and Building Codes in order to set Sunrun building standards that meet or exceed required codes.
Identify and improve inefficiencies found in our build practices or installation practices.
Work with Sunrun Supply Chain to make sure we’re providing the field with the right material and tooling necessary.
Communicate closely with branches about all new products or revisions existing products.
Qualifications
7-10+ Years working as a Technical Product Manager owning enterprise software delivery.
7-10+ Years work experience owning business critical products and technology services.
7-10+ Years Experience working with Full Stack SaaS Cloud/Device platforms (AWS experience preferred).
7-10+ Years Experience within Solar/Financial/Hardware/Retail/AI Software Platforms preferred.
Outstanding professionalism and leadership working with Business Stakeholders and Engineering Team resources.
Strong sense of ownership and demonstrated maturity to own multiple critical services.
Must be an extremely well organized leader (Verbal & Written).
Excellent presentation skills and ability to explain key concepts or decisions to a large audience.
Innovation mindset and problem-solving skills that include the ability to develop and propose solutions.
Ability to lead the efficient delivery of projects and define organizational product roadmap goals.
Ability to understand, interpret, and author technical solution design/architecture.
Positive attitude to correcting system challenges or ambiguous business requirements.
Physical Demands
Ability to transport materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks (up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds with assistance)
Ability to work on rooftops with various angles and surfaces which requires frequent bending, twisting, squatting, climbing, kneeling, crawling, turning, standing, and balance
Ability to work in confined spaces such as attics, basements, and crawl spaces which requires kneeling and crouching
Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions including but not limited to: excessive noise, extreme heat, extreme cold, wet environment, and humidity
Ability to frequently utilize hand functions requiring fine motor skills including but not limited to: fine manipulation, grasping, and pinching
Ability to work within the safe range of equipment such as ladders, fall protection harnesses and other personal protective equipment
Ability to work while wearing heavy protective equipment such as arc flash suits, gloves, and face shields
Ability to work and maintain balance on roofs and other areas of height
Ability to work in the sun and possibly low light conditions
Ability to walk on rafters, roof tiles, and roof shingles without damage
Ability to distinguish colors such as red, black, yellow, white, green
Ability to hear verbal commands and warnings
Ability to work with chemicals using appropriate protection
