ABOUT THIS ROLE: In the role of O&E Coordinator you will coordinate outreach and education for the Office of Human Rights. The O&E Coordinator will develop and implement robust communication and engagement strategies to advance the goals and objectives of the Human Rights Office. The O&E Coordinator will create opportunities for education and outreach through partnerships with organizations throughout the county and establish and maintain effective relationships with public/private civic groups, organizations, and county agencies. In addition, the O&E Coordinator will maintain a calendar of outreach activities, including community events, workshops, appearances, and other communication and engagement opportunities. You will liaise with and actively participate in county-wide outreach committees and report on meetings to senior management. Must be sufficiently mobile to work with clients, other human service professionals, local organizations, and education/training providers. The O&E Coordinator will design and produce webinars and newsletters and update our outreach and education webpage. The incumbent will coordinate the award-winning Student Leadership Council Program.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or G.E.D. and 4 years of related experience.
PREFERENCES: Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field. Familiarity with anti-discrimination and EEO. Experience with implementing communication strategies in a diverse and growing community and the ability to lead and work with teams to accomplish the work. Capable of sound judgment and adaptability when working in a complex, fast-paced environment. Able to learn about programs and communicate complex ideas. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Time management, planning and organizational skills. Knowledge of computers and proficiency in Office 365, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, WebEx, Word, Zoom, Publisher, Canva and Adobe. Must have the ability to relate well to people of all ethnic groups. Bilingual ability in English/Spanish is preferred.
WORK SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with occasional evening and weekend work required.
STARTING SALARY RANGE: $64,311 - $85,000
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Criminal Background Investigation Valid driver's license with a safe driving record
