Bechtel is building a semiconductor manufacturing plant in New Albany, Ohio. We are partnering with the North America Building Trades Unions and suppliers to create several thousand new jobs and work with local education organizations to implement new training programs that will support the future talent pipeline. Bechtel Manufacturing & Technology, Inc. offers engineering, procurement, and construction services for customers in the semiconductor manufacturing, electric vehicle, and data center markets. Headquartered in Reston, Virginia, the M&T global business unit also includes colleagues working in Arizona, Ohio, Texas, India, and additional project locations around the world.
Job Summary:
In this role, you will monitor and organize planning, safety, quality, and technical activities on a complex project with multiple stakeholders’ involvement, through the coordination and instruction of management staff. Your field supervision will help ensure operations are planned to coincide with overall established schedules and that work methods are planned and executed safely. #LI-SM2
Major Responsibilities:
Monitors and directs activities, through coordination and instruction of management staff within the area of responsibility.
Role supports on large projects of high complexity with multiple stakeholders’ involvement.
Planning
Reviews and monitors construction schedules, resource charts, and material and equipment requirements.
Reviews and approves where necessary, construction methods, schedules, manning charts, and material and equipment requirements.
Leads the construction operations impact on external interfaces to ensure they coincide with the overall established schedules.
Safety / Quality
Monitors installation of materials and equipment to assure conformance with drawings, specifications, vendor, and other requirements
Implements and enforces policies, procedures and related work rules as established by field construction management.
Technical
Works with Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents
Coordinates engineering solutions with Foremen and Craft Professionals.
Coordinates with Design on constructability issues.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Recognized as advanced contributor with specialized skill set
Considered highly skilled and proficient in discipline
Seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of area of specialization, resolves a wide range of complex issues in creative and effective ways
Additional Qualifications:
Prior experience building complex, large concrete projects including elevated cast in place slabs.
Prior experience managing Union craft. Prior experience managing mass concrete pours in a cold weather environment. Knowledge of a single or multi-discipline construction or engineering operation.
Prior experience with large gang form systems including tall walls and elevated slabs.
Knowledge of Bechtel’s Zero Accident Philosophy.
Knowledge of the Project ES&H Handbook, the Supervisors ES&H Manual, the Project Safety Management Plan, and the Bechtel Core Processes. Knowledge of the Six Sigma program tools and methodologies. Knowledge of supervisory functions relating to field activities. Knowledge of Standard Work Process Procedures (SWPPs).
Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications in accordance with current Bechtel Standard Application Program (BSAP) standards.
Demonstrated leadership in a team-based environment. Knowledge of the use of subcontracts, and the contractor and subcontractor’s responsibilities contained in subcontract documents.
Experience working with, supervising, and administering subcontractors and/or Direct Hire workforce.
