The Prince George's County Government Department of Public Works & Transportation is seeking qualified applicants to fill a Bridge Designs Program Supervisor (Engineer IV) position, grade G30, within its Highway & Bridge Designs Division.
About the Position: This senior professional level engineering position is responsible for supervisory level engineering and project management related to managing projects for the implementation of the County’s Capital Improvement Program for Highway and Bridge Designs.
Examples of Work
What You'll Do:
Performs supervisory engineering management work for the implementation of the county's Capital Improvement Program (CIP).
Develops, reviews project resumes, negotiates architectural/engineering (A/E) consultant services, directs design services and plan reviews, utility reallocation and inspection of work as appropriate.
Performs supervisory project management duties and manages the bridge inspection program.
Coordinates each project through designated phases from scope development through final project close out.
Serves Project Manager/Bridge Program Manager.
Performs supervisory project management duties and maintains oversight of assigned projects.
Maintains project oversight by scheduling, tracking and ensuring permits, certifications, and other regulatory project requirements are met.
Develops comprehensive CIP project scopes, resumes, and schedules services to be provided by the County's A/E consultants or large and complex projects.
Reviews, evaluates and analyzes technical submittals related to complex project designs prepared by the County's Design Consultants.
Develops, reviews and monitors the implementation of complex contractual agreements for A/E design consultants, construction management services and construction contracts.
Manages the Federal-Aid Bridge Program and serves as the principal DPWT point-of-contact for Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA).
Completes monthly reports on assigned activities, provides updates to program databases.
Participates as a critical and essential employee during the Department's Snow and Ice Control Program and other related special operations.
Performs duties and tasks which may not be specifically listed in the job description, but which are within the occupational category and responsibility level typically associated with the employee’s class of work.
Qualifications
What You'll Need: • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Civil, Architectual, Constructiion Environmental, or Urban Engineering. • Five (5) years of professional experience in project management to include at lease two (2) years of supervisory engineering experience. • Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Working knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
Proficiency in Computer Aided Design Drafting (CADD), primarily using Bentley Technology MicroStation

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: Upon selection, the candidate must:
