The Project Manager Supervisor manages the development and implementation process of company's products and services involving departmental or cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of new or existing products. You will lead a team of individuals where the focus is on supporting divisional projects through the Design Control process and providing project management expertise ensuring excellence in delivery.
What You’ll Work On
Lead a variety of different types of projects, including launching new products, sustaining activities, and services: system implementations, application development, systems integration, operational efficiency improvements, process reengineering, and infrastructure upgrades and deployments.
Directs projects with varying complexity often involving multiple internal and external constituents and matrix partners.
Directly manages all aspects of the project lifecycle and works with multiple stakeholders to oversee all Project Life Cycle and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) phases of a project.
Supports Product Design Control process through creation, implementation, and modification of product related documents such as Material Specifications, Bill of Materials, and other documentation that is housed in the design history file (DHF), device master record (DMR), and device history record (DHR).
Estimate project levels of effort and resource requirements by using standard estimating techniques and tools, and by working with appropriate staff to understand scope of effort.
Prepare project plans, schedules, and budgets by using established project management tools and techniques such as Microsoft Project, and by working with appropriate staff to understand tasks necessary to complete project.
Leads development of Project Charter and other project documents that satisfy the product development and stakeholder’s needs and expectations
Prepare and present written and oral reports and other presentations to internal and external audiences, including senior management.
Works under consultative direction with limited interface to senior management within division on significant matters.
Determines and pursues courses of action necessary to obtain project objectives. Prepares and analyzes alternatives.
Develops a set of viable alternatives for management; relates risk and gain to critical success factors and recommends action
Controls budget & maintains financial control to meet strategic project objectives.
Serves as a subject matter expert in routinely briefing key stakeholders on different aspects of assigned initiatives.
Performs tasks, such as writing Requests for Capital Expenditures (RCEs), milestone/quality checklists, scope documents, etc.
Reviews change requests, manages, and approves changes to the deliverables, organizational process assets, project documents, and the project plan.
Interacts well with diverse groups within engineering and maintains strong working relationships with internal and external collaborators.
Independently manages own workload by balancing multiple tasks/projects, prioritizing work based on criticality and urgency, and completing tasks on time.
Consult with internal project groups by sharing project management knowledge and assisting or mentoring more junior project leaders in project management processes and techniques.
Participate in external project management organizations, conferences, and seminars to keep current with industry best practices in project management by joining professional associations and implementing a professional development plan with focus on project management.
Defines and tracks project milestones while developing, maintaining, and reporting on the project delivery plan.
Ensures compliance with project management processes and best practices.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in related field, OR an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Minimum 5 years of project management experience.
Extensive in-depth knowledge of project planning techniques and working knowledge of automated project planning tools required.
Preferred Qualifications
Extensive knowledge of project management processes.
Project Management Institute (PMI) or PRiNCE2 certification or equivalent desired.
Proven ability to quickly earn the trust of sponsors and key stakeholders; mobilize and motivate teams; set direction and approach; resolve conflict; deliver difficult messages; execute with limited information and ambiguity.
Leadership and influencing skills.
Management of resource planning.
Sound business and technical acumen.
Experience with stakeholder management.
Ability to communicate at all levels with clarity and precision both written and verbally.
Strong technical writing skills.
Strong presentation skills.
Ability to remove barriers and enable teams to complete their objectives.
Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
A technical background in health care, nutritional products, laboratory diagnostics, medical devices, pharmaceutical, or similar industries (preferred).
Understanding and management of procurement & contracting processes.
Proficiency in MS Office suite including Excel, PowerPoint, Project
