Director Technical Project Management
What does a successful Director, Technical Project Management do at Fiserv?
You will be responsible for bridging our technology and product leaders through communication and collaboration. You will lead a team of Program and Project Managers driving simple to complex, high priority projects or component phases of larger Application Development programs. You will be accountable for delivering projects on time, within budget, and within scope. You will lead and coordinate cross-functional, cross-departmental and occasionally cross-company communication in the support of project completion within their portfolio.
What you will do:
- Ensure project methodologies, project delivery processes, and implementation management processes are followed which includes managing and driving project schedule, risk and issue management and scope change management
- Identify critical technology issues that are blocking the development team and partner with team to assist in resolution of those issues
- Manage the project budget which includes understanding and validating estimates, cost variance tracking, and managing project resources effectively
- Provide project/program status i.e. mission critical program updates (weekly meeting) and Clarity reporting and ensure adherence to and proper organization usage of project/program management practices in alignment with an agile methodology implementation
- Facilitate/manage project communications and stakeholder, client, and project team expectations
- Report on KPIs related to pipeline and execution portfolios, financials, and performance measures and support backlog & capacity management through the management of new project flow into development
- Create and maintain project & capacity forecasting including allocations and variance (IRC) and facilitate prioritization discussions, and create & maintain the initiative, epic, time tracking stories in V1 & Jira
- Maintain Clarity (PPM tool), Version One & JIRA Management and publish appropriate reports to create transparency and add in prioritization discussions
What you will need to have:
- 8-13 years of progressive technology portfolio and project and program management experience, including management of major application development projects, in a large operating environment
- 8 + years of experience in Agile Methodology
- 8+ years of work experience with critical thinking, collaboration skills, problem solving, risk management, organizational savviness, budgeting, coaching & mentoring, issue management, scope management and leadership skills with proven success in delivering projects within budget and specified timeframes, while ensuring customer satisfaction
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, work, and/or military experience
What would be great to have
- PMP and/or CSM certification
- Familiar with Java, Application Modernization
