Position Overview:
The Waving Analyst analyzes current demand to develop a staff deployment strategy that yields optimal use of budgeted hours and human resources to meet the needs of the business using Engineered Labor Standards. This position helps creates and maintains the Engineered Labor Standards and also forecasts schedules and helps observer intra-day deployment of staff. This positon also helps lead and assist in Lean/Six Sigma projects to help reduce labor cost or help in process accuracy and turn time. Lastly, they create and distribute, and monitor key reports and metrics for the operation as needed.
Key Accountabilities:
Develop and Forecast Schedules
Forecast volume for all functions within the operation determining the necessary staffing plan.
Recommend staffing and shift changes to management based on volume and staffing trends, escalating issues as necessary.
Establish hiring plans based on long term forecasting, including reporting attrition, hiring, flexing, and training timelines.
Manage Intra-Day Scheduling
Manage the intra-day re-forecasting relative to business needs. Recommends appropriate assignments as needed to make sure forecasts and operational goals are met.
Re-forecast staffing requirements, including running data for overtime, convenience leave, and additional resource requirements in accordance with budgeted goals.
Pro-actively monitor staffing and operational performance, including maintaining communication with front line management.
Reporting & Administration
Generate reports that address volume, staffing and scheduling changes on a determined frequency.
Recognize and interpret trends and changes in the business and communicate them to management.
Analyze historical data to project adherence to budgetary plan and operational performance expectations.
Maintain and update the Labor Management Systems technical functionality to include time and attendance, job functions.
Labor Standards
Create and maintain engineered labor standards to aid in the workforce planning process.
Perform time studies as necessary to adjust standards during process changes.
Understand and educate management on the labor standards.
Process Improvements
Analyze existing processes, identifies gaps and recommends new or revised policies and procedures.
Utilize Lean principles to help identify process improvements resulting in reduction of waste and increase in accuracy.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or similar field
Strong Communication Skills both written and verbal
Excellent PC skills and proficiency with Microsoft applications including Excel
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to interact with management and staff level positions
Ability to have a flexible work schedule
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a Distribution or Warehouse environment.
Expereince with Labor Management systems, ie. Manhattan, Red Prairie, etc.
