Job Grade: 5 ($20.34 - $24.69)
Classification: Hourly (Non-Exempt); Full-Time
Department: Administration
Schedule: M-F 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Location: Delaware, OH; Olentangy Campus
Summary of Responsibilities
Responsible for providing exceptional and efficient service to Del-Co Water Co customers, following company-mandated standards and procedures in the meter-to-cash cycle. Must have the ability to effectively utilize Del-Co technology tools with an ongoing process improvement mindset to deliver increasing customer service and create efficiencies within the department.
Essential Duties
- Daily communication regarding customer account issues and concerns via phone, email and in-person interaction.
- Leverage technology to deliver top-tier service.
- Manage customer accounts to ensure records are accurate at all times. This entails verifying that bills are properly posted, payment applications are performed in a timely manner, and thorough documentation of service-related activities is maintained.
- Integration of multiple systems supporting meter reads, billing, collections, customer work orders, GIS, banking and related.
- Educate customers on how to utilize technology available through Del-Co to efficiently resolve account issues, urgent or otherwise.
- Assign electronic work order requests to assigned personnel in a clear and efficient manner, and follow-up promptly to ensure customer requirements are met.
- Processing of payment receipts and balancing of daily deposits.
- Assists Finance team with reconciliation of payment receipts to bank records.
- Exhibit understanding, active listening, patience, and empathy to customers and team members.
- Identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and solutions.
- Work with company stakeholders in identifying measurable objectives and goals for projects of importance.
- Engage with department management in evaluating business processes.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Any combination of training and work experience which indicates possession of the skills, knowledge, and abilities to perform the job duties successfully.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Associate degree or coursework in principles of customer care, communication or computer literacy is desired.
- 2+ years of customer service with accounts receivable experience.
- Project management and business analysis experience is preferred.
- Exceptional verbal, written and technology-based communications skills.
- Must be well organized, detail oriented, and be able and willing to work as part of a team.
- Strong computer skills and desire learn new technologies.
- Comprehensive understanding of business math skills.
- Accounting experience preferred.
- Proficient and able to learn Microsoft Windows, Office 365, and all utilized technology systems.
- Valid driver license with an acceptable driving record.
