The Surgical Scheduling Supervisor oversees the surgical scheduler team and provides consistent support to the staff, Providers, and patients.
This position is full time.Monday - Friday.Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hoursof 8:30am - 5pm. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.Our office is located at 2507 South Rd POUGHKEEPSIE NY 12601.
We offer 3-4 weeks of on-the-job training. The hours of the training will be aligned with your schedule.
Primary Responsibilities (including but not limited to the following):
- Supervise the activities of staff while having direct accountability for exceptional scheduling and department service levels.
- Promoting an environment of continuous improvement and development.
- Nurture a culture of inclusivity, employee engagement, and employee recognition.
- Provide continuous feedback to all direct reports through mentoring sessions utilizing quality measures to measure performance.
- Maintain full understanding of department workflows and act as a subject matter expert; with ability to provide staff with appropriate resolution techniques for sensitive cases.
- Handle escalated calls from patients for service recovery and ensuring resolution to patients satisfaction.
- Collaborate with multiple internal/external areas focused on quality and provide input and feedback to improve processes, procedures, and training.
- Routine check-in with providers to ensure performance standards are being met.
- Maintain employee records, address disciplinary and performance opportunities timely, consistently, and fairly, while adhering to organizational policy.
- Generate reports from the EPM application to analyze and interpret individual and team key performance indicators.
- Present reports to the management team by collecting, analyzing, auditing, and summarizing data and trends.
- Ensure appropriate staffing needs, coverage maintenance, and schedule adherence.
- Ensure timely review and approval of time off requests and time cards.
- Interview applicants for Surgical Scheduler roles, using the formatted interview process and submitting recommendation to extend offer to qualified candidates.

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma / GED
- Must be 18 years of age OR older
- 3+ years experience in customer service.
- 3+ years experience in employee development and performance management
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.
- Proven record of meeting key performance metrics.
- Ability to travel up to 25% the time

Preferred Qualifications:
- 1+ years of supervisory experience in a fast paced and high stress environment (Preferably in a managed care environment)
