MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE
The Opportunity
The Business/ Demand Analyst role will support the overall Demand and S&OP process for Abbott Vascular. The role will be assisting the overall S&OP process by collecting, validating and summarizing complex data to develop actionable steps that will improve processes and optimize results, as well analyzing the demand submissions and liaise with Demand Managers to identify any risk and opportunities.
Objectives of this role
• Develop, implement, and maintain leading-edge analytics systems, taking complicated problems and building simple frameworks
• Identify trends and opportunities for growth through analysis of complex datasets
• Evaluate internal systems for efficiency, problems, and inaccuracies, and develop and maintain protocols for handling, processing, and cleaning data
• Work directly with managers and users to gather requirements, provide status updates, and build relationships
Responsibilities
• Support the monthly S&OP process by collecting, validating and summarizing complex data to develop actionable steps that will improve processes and optimize results.
• Support Demand Leads in liaison with Supply Chain and Global Marketing for management of constrained lines and prioritization/allocation decisions.
• Demand analysis: in depth review of forecast changes and trends, align with Areas and Affiliates in identify any risk and opportunities to the latest forecast. Expected to help also with Ad-hoc analysis required to support management in any decision or questions.
• Support Demand Planning Managers on initiatives and projects in both collecting and analyzing any data as well identifying areas of improvement and new processes and tools required to improve overall demand forecasting.
• Support Demand Managers on onboarding new hires both in terms of S&OP process expectations as well use of system and tools; map current local S&OP process and identify gaps and improvements' opportunities.
• Create and deliver dashboards and canned reports to support routine management oversight of business processes to ensure critical insight into exceptions and deliverables.
• Create and maintain rich interactive visualizations through data interpretation and analysis, with reporting components from multiple data sources
• Work closely with project managers to understand and maintain focus on their analytics needs, including critical metrics and KPIs, and deliver actionable insights to relevant decision-makers.
• Identify areas to increase efficiency and automation of processes. Set up and maintain automated data processes.
• Produce and track key performance indicators. Develop and support reporting processes
• Monitor and audit data quality.
• Proactively analyze data to answer key questions for stakeholders or yourself, with an eye on what drives business performance, and investigate and communicate which areas need improvement in efficiency and productivity.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Required skills and qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in mathematics, computer science, economics, or statistics.
• Three or more years of forecasting and/or supply chain planning and management experience.
• Strong SQL or Excel skills, with aptitude for learning other analytics tools.
• Understanding of Demand Planning and Forecasting methodology as well S&OP process.
• Experience with forecasting application software – SAP/APO preferred.
• Understanding of Supply Chain planning process and relationship with demand planning.
• Analytical and problem solving skills; ability to identify and concisely communicate the business implications of forecasts and actual results.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and adaptability to different culture and communication styles as this role interfaces across countries all over the world.
• The individual must be highly motivated and have a desire to innovate. The ability to work independently and proactively identify improvement opportunities is essential.
• Candidate should be able to work under pressure, consistently meet deadlines and direct activities on several projects at one time.
• Candidate must possess strong PC/system skills; specifically Excel, Power BI and PowerPoint with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
