The Associate General Counsel is responsible for providing legal advice on enterprise-wide technology and innovation matters and will effectively assist and advise on the development, use and sale of digital health technology products and services.
How You Will Make an Impact:
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Serve as a key member of the Corporate Enterprise Technology & Innovation Legal team.
- Provide legal advice and guidance on digital health technology law topics such as product development, IP, medical device, HIPAA, data use, AI and technology consulting services.
- Collaborate across the enterprise to provide legal support during product development lifecycle and establish appropriate relationships with responsible members of relevant groups, such as product strategy, sales, marketing and communications, privacy, compliance, RAI, information security, risk management and litigation to ensure coordinated and appropriate processes to support business strategy while mitigating risk.
- Advise team regarding legal risks and actively propose and implement risk mitigation options.
- Partner with internal established governance groups to stay on top of evolving regulations impacting business.
- Actively participate in process improvement initiatives and provide guidance and supervision to non-attorneys and attorneys in department and outside counsel as appropriate.
- Work as a strategic partner and decision maker with more senior leaders and manage work independently. Work collaboratively with colleagues with a willingness to adapt to changing legal support needs of rapidly growing business.
- Prioritize competing priorities, communicate effectively, maintain a positive attitude and flexibility while producing consistently high-quality work product in a fast-paced environment.
Minimum Requirements:
- Requires a JD, current license to practice law, and a minimum of 9 years of specific industry and/or technical legal experience post licensure; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experience:
- 10+ years of legal practice experience with a focus on digital health technology, software as a medical device, FDA regulatory, AI and privacy in a technology or health care company.
- Deep experience providing legal guidance on digital health technology product development for a large enterprise or business unit.
- Deep understanding of relevant laws and regulations, with demonstrated ability to stay up to date with industry standards related to technology solutions including AI.
- Client-service orientation with ability to create effective working relationships both internally and externally.
- Experience managing outside counsel strongly preferred.
For candidates working in person or remotely in the below location(s), the salary* range for this specific position is $165,040 to $297,072.
Locations: California; New York.
