TEACHER ¡V SPECIAL DAY CLASS
Definition:
The Special Day Class teacher works under the direction of the principal and the coordinator of the Special Services Department. The primary function is to reduce the learning disability of Special Day Class students so that they can function effectively when they return to the regular classroom instructional program.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
ľ Gather all information available on the individual student.
ľ Administer and interpret diagnostic tests.
ľ Organize and interpret student information drawing inferences regarding strengths, weaknesses, and potential.
ľ Conduct an individual plan of instruction for each child from established long-range goals and short-term objectives.
ľ Direct the activities of teacher aides.
ľ Communicate with regular classroom teachers to provide for smooth transition of students back into the regular program.
ľ Assess pupil achievement; communicate such assessment to parents, the principal, and the coordinator.
ľ Establish and maintain a system of record keeping that will best facilitate the learning process.
ľ Work cooperatively with special service personnel in conducting the program.
ľ Attend and participate in the in-service programs developed and presented for areas useful to the Special Day Class teacher.

Requirements / Qualifications
Folsom Cordova Unified School District is seeking to build a team that is representative of the Folsom Cordova student body and community. Diverse individuals are encouraged to apply.
Applicant must hold a valid California Education Specialist Credential in Mild/Moderate Disabilities or Moderate/Severe Disabilities with English Learner Authorization (or CLAD). New credential program graduates may be considered with an attached letter from the program stating program requirements have been met and date of completion.
*SIGNING BONUS - $10,000 paid over 3 installments at the completion of the school years with full preliminary or clear credential OR FCUSD may cover tuition for intern credential programs through SCOE or Yolo Solano. Internal candidates are not eligible for signing bonus*
