As a North America Human Resources team member, you will operate as an HR generalist and business partner to provide senior level support for the end-to-end employment lifecycle, with focus on U.S. labor laws and government contracting regulations. This role will partner closely with the broader global HR organization and require the ability to connect, engage, and relate to people at all levels of the organization to manage and support strategic and tactical deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
· Create influential relationships with leadership across the different business lines to understand their strategies, priorities, and goals. Bring forward business knowledge to shape HR strategy and priorities and ensure HR services meet or exceed expectations.
· Leverage extensive HR acumen to review, refine and/or implement formal procedures, processes, and workflows that support the HR function.
· Establish HR as a trusted business partner and ensure HR initiatives, programs, and policies are fully understood and thoughtfully implemented throughout North America.
· Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and systems to ensure efficient workflow and resource utilization.
· Oversee management, investigation, and resolution of complex employee complaints, grievances, and workplace concerns in an efficient, effective, and timely manner.
· Lead job evaluation and classification processes to determine appropriate job levels and salary ranges based on job responsibilities, qualifications, and market benchmarks. Ensure compliance with legal requirements, such as the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and Equal Pay Act.
· Ensure that company policies and procedures incorporate best practices and are consistently and equitably applied while meeting legal requirements.
· Act as the primary escalation point to help solve both day-to-day and more complex operational problems.
· Provide perspective, guidance, coaching, and management to the North America HR team regarding business challenges and opportunities, enhancing capabilities, driving engagement and retention, increasing effectiveness, and optimizing department performance.
· As a member of the HR leadership team, drive innovation and engagement across the HR department, including the future of work, global ways of working, digital transformation, employee tools, and benefits.
Experience and Qualifications
· Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field (Master's degree preferred).
· Eight (8) years of professional experience in HRBP-related disciplines, with at least three (3) years in a leadership role.
· HR certification such as SHRM-SCP or SPHR is preferred.
· Proven experience in establishing and leading HR functions in a government contracting environment.
· Extensive working knowledge of federal contracting regulations and compliance requirements.
· Preferred experience with Paylocity for payroll and benefits administration.
· Experience with M&A activities and new entity setup is highly desirable.
· Working knowledge of federal, state, local, and federal contractor employment laws and compliance programs; experience researching and implementing human resources best practices.
· Demonstrated effective communication and customer service skills with the ability to build effective working relationships with employees at various levels within the organization.
· Business acumen with a mindset for continuous improvement and productivity.
· Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; ability to assess situations and make sound judgments based on practice or previous experience.
· Ability to adapt and work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, changing environment with competing and shifting priorities.
