Job Description
The Director of Concrete Operations will be responsible for:
Maintain relationships and communications with responsible individuals at the company corporate location, Sub-contractors, Design professionals, and Owners on a positive and timely basis.
Monitor safety standards and all regulatory agencies.
Along with Safety Manager implement and enforce required safety standards.
Participate as requested by Safety Manager with company safety committee activities.
Facilitate development and maintenance of strong safety mindset in Company field operations
Follow company/corporate standard practices and/or procedures in the dealing with all parties involved in the project, to include: Company management personnel, Sub-contractors, Owners, Employees and/or Organized Labor representatives.
Oversee the concrete construction of the project in strict accordance to plans and specifications. Must have the ability to plan and execute all steps of the concrete scope of work, including all layout.
Monitor activities by regular on-site visits and contact with supervision whenever work is performed.
Provide direction and support to ensure construction is completed at the pace required to meet or exceed the established construction schedule. This may also include working with one's tools as required.
Monitor all contract and specification required tests and inspections to assure they are completed in the proper sequence.
Conduct audits to ensure specified standard quality control of all materials and methods of construction are met.
Assist with review of estimates with office staff.
Develop procedures/routine for communicating effectively with Superintendents and Field Supervisors.
Attend weekly job meetings, as needed.
Observe/facilitate overall field attitude and morale and suggest necessary Company interactions/goals to maintain the highest levels possible.
Communicate and enforce Company efforts relative to EEO, harassment and safety.
Attend monthly Field Operations Meetings and participate in company-sponsored training.
Develop an amicable and cooperative relationship with local official, business owners, residents, inspectors, and other owner representatives.
Participate in outside activities for public and customer relations.
Participate inpre-bid planning and strategies with appropriate Department Estimator and PM staff.
Participate in pre-bid pricing strategies and reviews.
Participate in pre-construction, pre-start and debrief meetings.
Perform takeoff to help develop estimates.
Provide suggestions, accompanied by need and cost analysis, for proposed equipment purchases or sales.
Provide direction and personnel scheduling for afterhours emergency related situations. (weekend's included)

The Successful Applicant
The Director of Concrete Operations will have:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in concrete
An associates degree is preferred but not required
Experience managing small to medium sized team
Ability to influence and persuade to achieve desired outcomes. In a professional and ethical manner.
Strong analytical, problem solving, and negotiation skills.
Ability to communicate (orally and in writing) in a professional manner
when dealing with employees, vendors and company contacts.
Excellent organizational, planning, and prioritization skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Competent computer skills to perform essential functions listed above.
Willingness to continue education in changing industry.
Willingness to mentor employees resulting in increased knowledge improved skills and enhanced abilities.

OTE of $230,000-$250,000
Base Salary $170,000-$190,000 (DOE)
