Role Overview: As a Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) Manager, your primary responsibility will be to ensure compliance with environmental, health, security, and safety regulations and promote a safe working environment for employees, clients, and visitors. You will develop and implement HSSE policies and programs, manage risk assessments, provide training and guidance, and monitor performance to achieve a culture of safety excellence within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Compliance Management:
- Stay up-to-date with all relevant environmental, health, security, and safety regulations and laws.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, codes, and standards.
- Collaborate with various departments to develop and implement appropriate policies and procedures.
- Regularly audit and assess compliance to identify areas of improvement.
Risk Assessment and Management:
- Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards and evaluate the level of risk.
- Develop and implement strategies to mitigate identified risks.
- Establish emergency response procedures and conduct drills.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
Training and Education:
- Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees at all levels.
- Promote a culture of safety awareness and ensure employees understand their roles and responsibilities.
- Provide guidance on safe work practices, equipment operation, and hazard identification.
- Collaborate with Human Resources to ensure compliance with EHS training requirements.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of EHS programs and initiatives.
- Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Prepare regular reports on EHS performance for management and regulatory agencies.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build relationships with internal stakeholders (e.g., employees, managers, executives) to create a shared commitment to EHS goals.
- Engage with external stakeholders (e.g., regulatory agencies, contractors, Client) to ensure compliance and align best practices.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal EHS regulations.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing EHS programs within an organization.
- Solid understanding of risk assessment methodologies and incident investigation techniques.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Safety Professional, Certified Industrial Hygienist) are desirable.
- Experience in the commercial real estate industry is a plus.
Estimated compensation for this position is:
75,000.00 – 120,000.00 USD per year
The pay range listed is a total compensation range including bonus, if applicable. The provided range is an estimate and not guaranteed. An employment offer is based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data.
