The Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented analyst to join the Revenue Analytics team at BuzzFeed Inc. The members of the Revenue Analytics team are industry-leading experts in affiliate, direct, and programmatic advertising data. This individual will be a critical part of our data-driven decision-making process. You will be using Advanced SQL to connect a vast network of first-party data & third-party revenue sources to generate impactful recommendations. The candidate will monitor data connections, ensure data integrity, and assist in projects that are essential to the business. This candidate will focus largely on our affiliate data with exposure and growth potential to move into additional revenue streams including programmatic and direct advertising. We are seeking a talented analyst who thrives at the intersection of data, creativity, and business.

This role is an incredible opportunity to explore the world of advertising data across affiliate marketing, direct advertising, and programmatic advertising.

The Revenue Analytics team works directly with many business-side stakeholders and is part of the broader Analytics team that also includes Product and Content-focused analysts. This is a full-time position, with a strong preference for candidates in the New York City area. Exceptional remote candidates will also be considered. Team members are based in Los Angeles, New York, and remote.

You Will

• Explore data to find insights and communicate these to stakeholders in easily digestible data formats.
• Work closely with business and tech teams to deliver accurate reporting and informative analysis.
• Work with tech and content teams to ensure that data collections for affiliate data streams are working and up to date.
• Set up and maintain alert systems and procedures to ensure revenue data is accurate and timely.
• Engage in data processing tasks such as cleaning, connecting and validating data.
• Create analytical reports using BI tools that include Looker/LookML & Google Suite.

You Have

• 2+ years experience with SQL
• 2+ years of quantitative or statistical analysis experience
• Ability to process and analyze large data sets, and interpret them to inform business decisions
• Strong communication skills and the ability to clearly articulate complex analysis to non-technical teams
• Interest in affiliate marketing and digital advertising
• Knowledge and familiarity with the BuzzFeed Inc. sites

• Advanced SQL, experience with materialization strategies, Joins, Partitioning, Window Functions, etc.
• Experience with commerce data is a plus, (Trackonomics, Amazon, and/or other 3rd party platforms)
• Development experience with Looker or other BI tools
• Knowledge of Python, R, or other scripting languages
• Experience with Git/Version Control
