We are looking for a Philanthropic Programs Vice President to join UHGs Social Responsibility team within UHGs Sustainability function and advance our key philanthropic initiatives and commitments. This individual will be responsible for leading our ten-year, $100 million philanthropic commitment to build a more diverse health workforce, including driving program management priorities, providing strategic oversight of key workstreams, and interfacing with cross-enterprise colleagues and executive leaders to advance UnitedHealth Groups commitment to health equity.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead the United Health Foundations Diversity in Health Care Scholarship program and steadily advance our declared goal of providing scholarships and support to 10,000 current and future health professionals by 2033
- Drive strategy for cultivating and nurturing philanthropic partners and ensure effective partner management. Represent the United Health Foundation at partner-hosted events and establish executive-level relationships with senior leaders
- Ensure progress against program priorities and adherence to timelines. Anticipate upcoming needs and challenges, and lead solutioning to ensure program objectives are met
- Develop and deploy evaluation strategy to assess program outcomes and identify opportunities for improvement
- Partner closely with Sustainability colleagues, Corporate Communications, Marketing and other functions to develop and advance the Enterprises health equity narrative and ensure our philanthropic investments are accurately and appropriately presented to internal and external stakeholders
- Oversee scholar engagement and visibility strategy to drive awareness of the program and ensure it is responsive to scholars needs
- Provide strategic program updates to UHG Executive Leadership, the United Health Foundation Board and key third-party organizations
- Manage key strategic relationships on behalf of the United Health Foundation
- Develop, nurture and sustain relationships with key stakeholders to help inform the Foundations philanthropic initiatives and tangibly advance our mission.
- Lead purposeful and distinctive visibility efforts that align to the Enterprises priorities and demonstrate how we are working to improve health and health care in communities
- Advance UHGs Sustainability priorities and nurture a high-performing team
- Leverage subject matter expertise and professional abilities to help advance UHGs Sustainability priorities and mature a best-in-class social responsibility organization
- Provide supervision of multiple direct reports, serve as a trusted ally and champion for colleagues, and leverage leadership presence to reinforce our Values and foster an inclusive and cohesive culture across the social responsibility team

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree
- At least 5 years of experience in corporate social responsibility, corporate philanthropy, or supporting public or private foundations
- At least 7 years of experience managing people and leading teams
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in health care or public health fields
- Sharp analytical and strategic thinking capabilities, high emotional intelligence and ability to use good judgment in nuanced situations
- Minimum of 10 years of experience managing projects with multiple workstreams and stakeholders, including development and execution of detailed work plans as well as developing and monitoring program budgets
- Solid interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with ability to bring together diverse stakeholders and build consensus on shared interests
- Excellent written and verbal communications abilities, with proven ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to executive audiences
- Experience developing and maintaining productive professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and comfort in independently leading through influence to achieve shared objectives
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize information effectively from multiple sources to develop clear, impartial analyses and advance solutions
- A highly motivated team player who is comfortable leading in ambiguous situations, developing new relationships and rolling up your sleeves to achieve results

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
