Position Summary

Develop, prepare, review and analyze student health insurance key performance indicators to inform management about trends influencing NYU’s annual $100 million health insurance renewal. Develop, prepare, review and analyze patient accounts key performance indicators to inform management about patient collections and their influence on the Student Health Center’s model of care. Partner with appropriate SHC departmental specialists (IT, Informatics) as well as NYU stakeholders (Bursar) and external vendors (domestic and global health insurance carriers) to assure new NYU academic programs (on line programs, etc.) are appropriately integrated into the SHC’s health insurance model. Incumbent will assess insurance and patient accounts processes and will recommend strategies to improve performance and workflows.
Qualifications
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting or related field.
Required Experience: 3+ years of years of related experience in data management and in a patient account and health insurance environment.
Preferred Experience: 3+ years of years in an ambulatory health care patient financial services environment.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Excellent data management skill and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.). Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to influence and advocate when appropriate. Excellent interpersonal, analytical, problem solving and conflict resolution skills. Demonstrated ability to provide high-quality customer service. Ability to interpret policies and procedures to interact effectively with a diverse population at all levels and to facilitate decision making. Ability to handle multiple tasks in a high volume deadline-driven environment.
Additional Information
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $72,000 to USD $85,000. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
