The goal of GTAR is to design and conduct research across multiple frontier technologies, in order to enable novel discoveries and inventions, and to inform and develop next-generation solutions for the firm’s clients and businesses.
As an established R&D director with Global Technology Applied Research, you will have proven networking services and middleware background to drive quantum-safe networking innovations at JPMorgan Chase. The role will oversee the development and deployment of next-generation quantum network services for business applications and end users. The role is expected to lead and collaborate with a highly interdisciplinary team, consisting of researchers and engineers from different technical disciplines, who may be located in different cities across the globe.
Job responsibilities
Lead the design and development of network services, middleware, and applications for quantum networks
Develop quantum-safe networking roadmaps in consultation with stakeholders, internal teams, and partners
Work with internal and cross-functional teams to ensure R&D outcomes are compliant with best practices and firm’s cyber and technology controls
Manage an interdisciplinary R&D team consisting of researchers and engineers
Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science, IT or related disciplines
6 years of experience in enterprise software engineering leadership and management role (SW engineering lead or R&D lead) in networking, telecommunications, quantum networks or related fields
3 years of experience in building and supporting large enterprise applications that are distributed across on-prem, clouds, and edge environments.
Experience in managing the entire software development life cycle, from coding standards, reviews, version control management, to build processes, validation and operation.
Technical proficiency in networking protocols and architectures, and with one or more general-purpose programming languages and compliers.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Proven experience in building out quantum-safe solutions (e.g., quantum key distribution or post-quantum cryptography) for clients and customers
Proven experience in adopting and deploying emerging technologies (e.g., AI, blockchain or quantum) in finance
