About Team:
Everyone has data, but the sheer volume of data at Walmart can be limitless. In the Data Engineering team, we help Walmart manage this data by building pipelines and data lakes to prepare big data for analysis and unlocking actionable insights in real-time. We also use cross-departmental data and machine learning to build a holistic view of true profitability, saving millions of dollars across item categories and geographies while assisting our leadership in making better decisions faster.
What you'll do:
- Shape Our Data Strategy: Lead the design and implementation of our data architecture, ensuring it's robust, scalable, and aligned with our business goals.
- Manage Customer Data, Identity, and Segmentation: Handle and optimize massive sets of customer data, ensuring accuracy, security, and accessibility across our platforms.
- Model and Design Databases: Create and maintain data models that meet business needs, supporting everything from data analytics to operational databases.
- Ensure Data Quality: Develop and enforce data governance policies and standards to maintain high standards of data integrity and compliance.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with business stakeholders, IT teams, and data scientists to understand data needs and deliver top-notch solutions.
- Optimize Performance: Monitor and fine-tune data systems to ensure they run smoothly and efficiently.
- Mentor and Lead: Guide and support your team of data professionals, sharing best practices and technical expertise.
What you'll bring:
- You’ve worked with massive customer data sets / other retail or consumer datasets and know how to keep everything running smoothly.
- You’re familiar with the latest data technologies and can evaluate and implement them effectively.
- You understand the importance of data governance, standards, streaming architecture, and have implemented policies to ensure data quality, consistency, minimize latency and improved compliance.
- You’re a strategic thinker who can align data architecture with business goals and objectives.

The annual salary range for this position is $169,000.00-$338,000.00

Minimum Qualifications...

Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field and 6 years' experience in data engineering, solution architecture, business
intelligence, business analytics or related field. Option 2: 8 years' experience in data engineering, solution architecture, business intelligence,
business analytics or related field. Option 3: Master's degree in Computer Science and 4 years' experience in data engineering, solution
architecture, business intelligence, business analytics or related field.
