Optimized Process Designs, LLC (OPD), a Koch Company, is seeking an Electrical Design Lead to join out team at our headquarters in Katy, TX. The Electrical Design Lead will be responsible for leading, coordinating, and actively participating in the development of electrical design deliverables across a range of EPC projects. Operating under the broad direction from the I&E Project Lead and Electrical Design Supervisor, you will provide the required technical knowledge and guidance to fully execute the electrical design scope, from early conception through final delivery.

What You Will Do
- Establish and maintain a “safety first” culture.
- Develop a safe and cost-efficient design that adheres to client specifications, national codes, and industry standards.
- The ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner.
- Development of typical electrical design deliverables such as one-lines, schematics, wiring diagrams, interconnects, panel schedules, cable schedules, block diagrams, hazardous area classification drawings, plan drawings, etc.
- Create standard installation details for systems such as grounding, duct bank, lighting, power, and cable tray.
- Review vendor documentation and verify compliance with the project requirements and implementation into project design.
- Participate in the review and development of load summaries, and calculations.
- The ability to work independently and/or within a team of designers, on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Assist with developing, maintaining consistency, and improving department process, tools, and standards.
- Provide field support when necessary and attend equipment FAT’s when needed.
- The ability to communicate effectively with management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other consultants.
- The ability to provide technical guidance, coach, and mentor the electrical design team.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Experience directly related with detailed design of electrical systems.
- Experience with NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code).
- Previous experience working in AutoCAD & Microsoft Office software
What Will Put You Ahead
- Accredited two (2) year degree or global equivalent in technical field of study.
- Five years design lead experience. • Field/construction experience.
- Experience with reviewing and verifying outside vendor drawings and documentation.
- Working knowledge of implementing and adhere to national codes and standards such as ANSI, API, IEEE, NEMA, NFPA 70E, PIP, etc.
- Experience working in Bluebeam software
