Job Summary
The Manager, Faculty Lifecycle reports directly to the Senior Vice Provost for Faculty Advancement (SVPFA). The Manager operationalizes faculty lifecycle policies and procedures and works with units across campus to communicate timetables for such processes and manage associated paperwork and approvals. The Manager provides oversight for faculty policy development, review, and maintenance; acts as a point of contact for the University’s policy office; maintains faculty policies; and initiates new policy development as needed. The Manager works with HR to ensure that all faculty records are properly maintained and correctly reflected in University systems. This position is also responsible for communicating with the academic units all changes to faculty status: tenure, promotion, retirement, etc. The Manager works closely with the Provost Office Finance Team to ensure consistency across all units in all financial and policy decisions.
Essential Functions
- Through collaborative and inclusive stakeholder procedures, maintain and operationalize faculty lifecycle policies and procedures, execute policy requirements, and communicate.
- effectively with faculty and other stakeholders.
- Respond with timely and accurate information to queries regarding all faculty lifecycle processes.
- Proactively coordinate with other offices across campus (Schools and Colleges, Departments, Human Resources, Faculty Senate) to manage faculty lifecycle issues and processes including, but not limited to, policy development and revision, hiring, promotion and tenure, contract renewals, sabbatical, leave of absence, extensions of the pre-tenure period, and retirement.
- Prepare all documents related to promotion and tenure for the Provost’s Office including materials for Board of Trustees review.
- With the SVPFA, oversee policy development review and maintenance.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or the equivalent combination of education and work experience.

- At least 2 years of experience.

- Exceptional skill in written communication and attention to detail. Strong ability to develop and implement effective and efficient processes and workflows.
- Strong interpersonal skills including the capacity to communicate effectively with administrative units across campus regarding faculty life cycle policies, timelines and processes.
- Ability to work with sensitive and confidential information and maintain the privacy of our clients.
- Excellent judgement and the capacity to work as an effective part of a small team are essential.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree. Experience in higher education or human resources desired. Experience working with sensitive written information desired.

Additional Information
This position is classified as exempt, grade L. Compensation for this grade ranges from $62,630 to $93,950 per year. Please note that the offered rate for this position typically aligns with the minimum to midrange of this grade, but it can vary based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
