Title: Research Associate or Senior Research Associate
Location: Hayward, CA- 100% onsite
Shift: Monday- Friday, standard working hours
Pay: $40-$50/hr

Work for an exciting startup company engineering novel drugs and modalities from first principles.

We are seeking a highly motivated and curious Research Associate to join our team focused on the design and development of novel nanoparticles composed of nucleic acids, proteins, and lipids. The Research Associate will contribute to cutting-edge research aimed at advancing drug delivery systems.

Responsibilities:
 

• Design and synthesize nanoparticles utilizing nucleic acids, proteins, and lipids.
  

• Conduct experiments using molecular biology techniques such as PCR, gel electrophoresis, and DNA/RNA purification.
  

• Perform protein engineering to modify and optimize proteins for nanoparticle incorporation.
  

• Develop and optimize protocols for nanoparticle formulation and drug delivery systems.
  

• Characterize nanoparticles using techniques such as dynamic light scattering (DLS), zeta potential measurements, and electron microscopy.
  

• Collaborate with team members to analyze data, interpret results, and prepare research reports.
  

• Present findings at team meetings and contribute to scientific publications.

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science or Master of Science degree in a relevant field
  

• Experience with plasmid cloning, nucleic acid and protein analytical techniques: PCR/qPCR/ddPCR, Western Blot, and ELISA
  

• Knowledge of drug delivery systems and related characterization techniques.
  

• Preferred experience in protein engineering and protein purification
  

• Preferred hands-on experience with lipid-based nanoparticle formulation
