Location: This position will work in a hybrid model (virtual and office). The ideal candidate will live within 50 miles of one of our Elevance Health PulsePoint locations.
Elevance Health supports a hybrid workplace model with PulsePoint sites used for collaboration, community, and connection, with the minimum in-office commitment being 1-2 days in the office per week.
The Government Relations Director Sr. is responsible for leading advocacy before state and local government entities related to the priorities of the CarelonRx and related plan businesses. Includes development, execution, and implementation of strategies to effectively communicate and collaborate with government officials, policymakers, and regulatory agencies at the local and State levels in alignment with public policy; availability to the Federal advocacy team as needed.

- Engage in lobbying efforts to promote the interests of CarelonRx company and its clients.
- Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory proposals assess their potential impact on the PBM industry and provide recommendations to senior management. Oversee the development of implementation of public affairs and communications strategies to effectively convey our business’ positions and messages to government stakeholders. Work in collaboration with other division of Public Affairs (PPIM, PPI, Federal & External Affairs) to achieve enterprise and department goals and objectives.
Minimum Requirements:
- Requires a BS in Pharmacy or PharmD and ten years of legislative, regulatory, political, public affairs, or industry experience; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.
Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:
- Travel required (up to 75%)
- Pharmacy and/or PBM experience
For candidates working in person or remotely in the below locations, the salary* range for this specific position is $159,624 to $258,768.
