Job Summary
Provides diagnostic and remedial services for pupils with communicative disorders.
DUTIES
• To provide diagnostic evaluation and test interpretation for language-speech disordered pupils.
• To provide diagnostic evaluation and remediation to preschoolers (age 3 and up).
• To provide diagnostic evaluations to infants and provide consultation to parents.
• To follow pupil enrollment priorities based on the severity of pupil's communicative disorders.
• To establish relevant, verifiable objectives; to plan and implement remediation and evaluate pupil progress.
• To schedule a maximum amount of daily pupil contact time.
• To follow the designated record keeping procedures.
• To attend staff and in-service meetings as needed.
• To participate in multi-disciplinary staff conferences with parents, school, county and community personnel as needed.
• To demonstrate professional interpersonal relationships and effective communication systems with pupils, parents, other school and county personnel.
• To extend professional knowledge and continue professional growth.
Requirements / Qualifications
All of the following credentials are required for this position:
• BA in Speech and Hearing.
• 5 years of specialized training.
• Masters in Speech Pathology.
• Valid California State Service Credential specialized in speech, language, hearing; pre-school and adult.
