Mitsubishi Heavy Industries America, Inc. (MHIA) is looking for a Human Resources Administrator to join our team. This is a hybrid role based out of our Houston, TX Office.

SCOPE:
The HR Administrator plays a vital role in supporting the HR department’s functions, ensuring compliance, and enhancing the overall efficiency of HR operations. They serve as a bridge between employees and management, facilitating communication and the smooth implementation of HR policies and procedures.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage the onboarding and offboarding processes, including all related personnel transactions, employee orientations, new hire documentation, and compliant record maintenance.
- Assist in the development and implementation of orientation, onboarding, and off-boarding programs to ensure a smooth transition for employees.
- Interpret and apply company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws.
- Monitor and update HR templates to reflect policy, legal, and organizational changes.
- Maintain accurate up-to-date employee records, including personnel files and HRIS entries.
- Support the identification of training needs and assist in assigning and tracking the requested trainings
- Oversee payroll processing – Review employee status, promotion, job change, and other pay changes
- Supervise time-keeping procedures for employees in compliance with organization policies and procedures and government regulations.
- Participate in HR-related projects, such as policy development, process improvement, and diversity and inclusion initiatives.
- Prepare ad hoc reports and provide metrics on various HRIS captured activities as requested
- Oversee the administration of the Service Recognition program, including accurate data file submission, award mailing, and report generation.
- Manage the team mailbox ensuring timely acknowledgement of inquiries, providing guidance, and supporting general employee communication and messaging. Escalating concerns when necessary.
- Promptly reply to requests for employee verifications.
- Support the distribution of employee communications and messaging.
- Participate in various meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems, and maintain knowledge of new developments, requirements, and policies.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Education Requirement: Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or a related field required. Bachelor's degree, preferred. Equivalent combination of education of experience.
- Experience: At least three (3) years’ experience in a HR role that includes payroll oversight and/or document management.
- Any special skills/training/certifications:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams)
- Experience in Human Resources Information Systems/Payroll systems.
- Report writing within a HRIS system.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Travel: Up to 10% may be required.
- Weekend/late night work if applicable: Occasionally.
- Lifting/physical requirements: Regularly required to sit for long period, stand, walk, talk and/or hear. Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
