Overview Direct the activities of Distribution Center warehouse operations as related to functions such as Warehouse, Transportation, Production, Administration, Sanitation, Maintenance, Accounting and other requirements necessary to the successful operation of the Distribution Center. Assures quality and safety while achieving established objectives and profitability. Responsibilities ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Direct Manager and Supervisor activities in respect to Distribution Center warehouse goals and objectives. Evaluate, recruit and motivate warehouse staff. Responsible for complying with government regulations which include Federal, State, and Local requirements. This includes maintaining proper records and facility responsibilities. Responsible for providing a safe working environment including compliance with Company, State, Local and Federal policies and regulations. Maintains good employee relations and adheres to company policies taking proper and judicious disciplinary measures when required. Responsible for maintenance of entire facility. Manage inbound and outbound movement of finished goods, raw material, and packaging. Responsible for maintaining and improving productivity in warehouse, maintenance, and sanitation departments. Responsible for maintaining all material handling equipment Responsible for good interface with customer service. Develops and controls plans and budgets. Ensures all training, direction, development, evaluation, coaching and leadership to subordinates are completed as required. Ensures compliance to quality, food safety and HAACP support programs; assures conformity to all company, customer and government standards. Maintains good employee, corporate and community relations. Coordinates with inventory control, warehouse support, corporate customer service and operations coordinators to ensure efficient warehouse operations and customer service. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensure proper staff coordination and communication. Advises the Distribution Center Manager of strategic needs and plans for the Distribution Center. Performs other duties as required or directed. Qualifications KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: * Strong leadership and self-motivational skills. * Good written and verbal communication skills. * Good organizational skills. * Good understanding of operations. EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: * Eight to ten years direct experience in warehousing environment. *At least four years experience as Assistant Distribution Center Manager or Operations Manager. *Degree in a related field preferred. Working Conditions/Environment WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment consists of both office and warehouse, which may contain temperature extremes; in some cases, working in environments below freezing temperatures.
