The primary purpose of the Chief Nuclear Medical Technologist position is to oversee the daily operation of the section through monitoring staff activities, participate in decision-making for the section, and perform technical procedures and examinations. The responsibilities include Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT. The Chief Nuclear Medicine Technologist will also assist the Director in assuring high quality exams while looking for ways to economize services to increase efficiency. This will include new procedures and vendor negotiation.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree required. Must be a graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine program with a valid license to work in the field of nuclear medicine technology in the State of New Jersey. NJ State license and ARRT or NMTCB Certification and current active registration required. Three (3) years’ experience in Nuclear Medicine required. One (1) year of experience at a Lead or Supervisory level required. Must possess the necessary licensure for Fusion Imaging or agree to obtain licensure within 1.5 years of hire. Additional related experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the degree requirements. Competent in all aspects of Nuclear Medicine related procedures and American College of Radiology (ACR) requirements. Annual fit testing is required. Must maintain valid certification by the American Heart Association in Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR. Participation in the on-call program required.
Credential required: NJ State license, in Nuclear Medicine Technology and Limited Fusion Imaging/Diagnostic Radiography, ARRT(N) or NMTCB, ARRT (R or CT) or NMTCB CT, and Basic Life Support CPR.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position requires sitting under 1/3 of the time, use of hands to finger, handle, or feel to 2/3 of the time, reach with hands and arms under 1/3 of the time, stooping, crawling, kneeling, crouching under 1/3 of the time, talking or hearing more than 2/3 of the time.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Moderate noise (examples: business office with computers and printers, light traffic). Exposure to blood borne pathogens that requires use of personal protective equipment.
