Position Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated nurse to join our Extended Recovery Department team. As a nurse in this department, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional care to patients who require extended monitoring and support post-operatively or post-procedure. The schedule for this opportunity is per diem, 12-hour shifts, and is designated for the night shift. The per diem flat rate for this position is $72.605/hr and the shift differential for nights is an additional $6.50/hr. There is a minimum of 1 shift per week availability required for per diem positions.

As a successful candidate, you will:
Monitoring and assessing patients' vital signs, pain levels, and overall condition during the Phase I and Phase 2 recovery periods, to ensure a smooth transition towards discharge.
Administering medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, ensuring accurate dosage and proper administration techniques.
Recognizing and responding promptly to any changes in patients' condition, taking appropriate action to ensure their safety and well-being.
Collaborating with healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients, addressing their unique recovery needs.
Providing clear and thorough post-operative instructions to patients and their families, ensuring they understand and can follow the necessary steps for a successful recovery at home.
Providing emotional support and reassurance to patients and their families, addressing any concerns or questions they may have regarding the recovery process.
Maintaining a clean and organized recovery environment, adhering to infection control protocols and safety standards.
Qualifications
Your qualifications should include:
Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s degree in Nursing is required. If ADN only, must obtain BSN within three years of hire or transfer
Current California RN license
Minimum of 1 year experience in an acute care setting and/or outpatient setting
Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR Card through American Heart Association
