The City of Garden Grove is looking for volunteers to help its Code Enforcement team ensure that residents and visitors comply with the City's Municipal Code to ensure maintenance and preservation of the City's beauty.
Essential Duties
Code Enforcement Volunteers will perform the following:
Conduct in-vehicle field inspections with a volunteer partner.
Document observations on a written field log.
Take photos of observations utilizing a digital point-and-shoot camera.
Remove illegally posted banners, posters, or flags from public sidewalks and City Right-of-Way when requested by Code Enforcement Volunteer Supervisor.
Provide Code Enforcement contact information via the Code Enforcement office business card when requested by the public.
Requirements
Volunteers are required to have:
a valid CA driver's license and insurance, and
an acceptable driving record (A DMV H6 printout will be required if selected).
Ideally, the volunteer must be able and willing to:
Follow written and verbal directions
Work well with fellow volunteers and City staff
Operate a digital camera
Communicate effectively in writing and orally
Provide good customer service to the community

City Hall is open Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and every other Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
A DMV H6 printout will be required for volunteers who are selected. Volunteers who have an acceptable driving record will continue in the process. An acceptable driving record includes three (3) or fewer DMV points issued within the past five (5) years, and no more than one (1) DUI within the past ten (10) years.
This is a volunteer opportunity that is not eligible for compensation/benefits.
