The role of a Site Manager is to manage the daily operations of an in-person vote center, serve as a resource to a team of poll workers, and provide excellent service to a diverse voter population. Site Managers are required to attend two days of paid poll worker training and one additional day of paid Site Manager training.
The ideal candidate will be a team player and exhibit strong leadership, professionalism, patience, flexibility, and integrity at all times. Site Managers will lead a poll worker team in the operations of a fast-paced vote center using up-to-date election technology. Candidates must represent the Registrar of Voters in a professional and non-partisan manner at all times and provide a positive experience to all voters and observers.
CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT
As part of the County of San Diego’s pre-employment process, prospective candidates will undergo a background check prior to beginning County employment and will sign pre-hire paperwork including a Declaration/Oath and a Code of Conduct.
Management/Vote Center Responsibilities:
Comprehend and implement important details of election procedures and use of technology
Assume responsibility for accurate implementation of procedures
Serve as the leader of a vote center and manage a team of poll workers
Handle and resolve difficult situations in a positive manner
Provide exceptional customer-service to voters, observers, and vote center staff
Communicate effectively with your team, the public, and the ROV
Complete daily checklists, procedures, and supply responsibilities
Track daily attendance of poll workers and report accurately
Implement vote center access plans in coordination with site contact/management
Direct the setup and pack out of a vote center on the day prior to opening and the day after Election Day

Conduct all interactions at a vote center in a professional and non-partisan manner
Arrive at all scheduled assignments on time
Demonstrate accuracy, dependability, and good judgement

Perform other duties as needed and work a rigorous schedule, including weekends
Physical Ability:
Ability to help setup, take down, and clean up training/voting sites
General safety practices with emphasis on proper and safe lifting techniques
Continual walking, standing, bending, simple grasping, reaching above and below shoulder level, and lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 30 lbs.
Location: Training and vote centers will be located across the County.
Appropriate Site Manager assignments will be arranged individually with ROV staff.
