Job Abstract

Residence Inn Anaheim Hills Yorba Linda is seeking a Chief Engineer to join the team. As Chief Engineer, you would be responsible for directing and overseeing the functionality and safety of the facility to protect the well-being of all guests and team members in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability.

Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

• Direct and oversee the functionality and safety of the facility, including, but not limited to, physical buildings, mechanical equipment, electrical systems, heating and cooling systems, life safety systems and grounds according to federal, state and local regulations
• Conduct facility inspections
• Assign, verify and document completion of all routine maintenance and repairs in the property maintenance management system
• Direct, oversee and maintain required documentation for energy management and conservation and preventive maintenance programs
• Lead, manage and communicate information about capital projects and property rehabilitations, including, but not limited to, scheduling, budgeting and complying with contractor bidding standard

• Manages the physical plant including equipment, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, water treatment and electrical systems in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.

• Manages and controls heat, light and power.

• Develops an engineering operating strategy that is aligned with the property/brand’s business strategy.

• Manages Engineering budget.

• Ensures integration of departmental goals in game plans.

• Oversees execution of long term preventative maintenance and 10 year asset protection plans.

• Reviews financial reports and statements to determine how Engineering is performing against budget.

• Addresses potential areas of concern and proposing solutions to owners in a proactive manner.

• Communicates a clear and consistent message regarding departmental goals to produce desired results.

• Supervises construction to ensure timely completion of projects within budgetary guidelines.

• Ensures compliance with state, local and federal regulations.

• Maintains property life safety systems (e.g., fire fighting equipment, sprinkler systems, and alarm systems).

• Ensures building and equipment licenses, permits and certifications are current.

• Ensures property policies are administered fairly and consistently.

• Obtain required licenses and permits to ensure full compliance with codes, regulations and safety standards * Direct daily department operations including, but not limited to, guest service standards and initiatives, product quality, inventory management and cost controls, systems use and management, budgeting and forecasting, adherence to federal, state and local standards and meeting participation and facilitation

• Monitor and develop team member performance to include, but not limited to, providing supervision and professional development, conducting counseling and evaluations and delivering recognition and reward
• Recruit, interview and train team members

• Maintains accurate logs and records as required.

• Assists in effectively planning, scheduling and evaluating preventative maintenance programs.

• Handles guest problems and complaints effectively.

• Empowers employees to provide excellent customer service.

• Displays leadership in guest hospitality by exemplifying excellent customer service and creating a positive atmosphere for guest relations.

Salary Range: $66,560-$70,000
