What you will do- Prepare salads, sandwiches, desserts and other cold food items following standardized food recipes.
- Comply with Portion Control Standard according to departmental policy.
- Follow HACCP Food Safety Guidelines
- Clean and operate equipment efficiently and safely.
- Perform tray line service. Ensures the appearance of the tray and arrangement is aesthetically pleasing and service is accurate and efficient.
- Prepare and deliver floor stocks and nourishments on a timely basis.
- Perform meal service. Ensures cafeteria meal service starts on time. Food is displayed attractively in the steam tables, salad bar and sandwich bar. Cafeteria is kept clean and orderly during operation. Cash is taken correctly. Food is kept at a safe temperature throughout service time.
- Perform dish room operation according to departmental standard
- Employee must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the C-I-CARE Standards of the Hospital. C-I-CARE is the foundation of Stanford Healthcare tri-Valley's patient-experience and represents a framework for patient-centered interactions
Education Qualifications- High School Diploma or GED Preferred
Experience Qualifications- Six months experience in food production in a hospital or similar setting Preferred
- Safe Serve Certificate Preferred
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities- Ability to read, write and speak English. Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
- Excellent customer service skills
- Cash handling and cash register experience helpful.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to push, pull and lift 50-pounds.
- Available to work varied shifts
- Ability to prioritize work assignments and use time efficiently
- Ability to work effectively as a team player.
- Knowledge of and the ability to use kitchen and general cleaning materials and equipment
- Knowledge of basic food preparation practices, common table setting, and the ability to learn the methods and procedures of a large-scale kitchen.

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $25.00 - $33.00 per hour
